Feb 13, 2018 - In Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists published an official position statement on the role of an antimicrobial stewardship team in the use of rapid diagnostic testing in acute care.

Feb 1, 2018 - FIND reported on a regional stakeholders' summit in South Africa that highlighted the need for rapid diagnostics and improvement of diagnostic capacity as a means of preventing antimicrobial-resistant infections in African countries.

Nov 20, 2017 - On the Lancet Global Health blog, Liang Qu of Monash University assesses the potential of rapid point-of-care diagnostic tests in development to respond to antimicrobial resistance.

Nov 6, 2017 -  The Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance summarizes discussions on antimicrobial development and research into rapid diagnostics occurring as part of the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Health in Milan, Italy.

Utility of Rapid Diagnostics in Staphylococcus aureus Bacteremia in Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists) - The course will review the commercially available rapid diagnostic testing available to be used in treating patients with S. aureus, technologies associated with available rapid testing, ways that rapid diagnostics can help in the management of patients with S. aureus, and ways to incorporate rapid diagnostics into antimicrobial stewardship programs to improve outcomes.
