Brian R. Golob, MS
Brian Golob is a senior public health specialist in the BioWatch program, developing guidance documents, training modules, and courses and participating in exercises. Mr Golob previously worked for Hennepin County's Public Health Protection Service Area in Minnesota's most populous county. Previously he was a senior environmentalist who worked for 6 years on environmental health emergency preparedness issues. He has worked at the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council, the City of St. Paul, and the Ramsey County Public Health Department.
He is a qualified legal expert in solid waste management in Minnesota, a certified hazardous material manager, and a registered environmental health specialist.
Mr Golob's extensive private-sector experience includes working at two environmental engineering consulting firms that specialized in solid and hazardous management: a start-up mercury reclamation firm that recycled mercury-containing lamps, devices, and contaminated debris, and at a circuit board manufacturer.
His work experience reflects solid waste management planning and project implementation, hazardous waste management compliance and permitting, compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Department of Transportation standards, employee training, environmental auditing, strategic planning, sales support, and technical sales. He has published eight trade journal articles and two technical proceedings. He has spoken at more than 65 conferences on various environmental health topics.
Mr Golob graduated from the University of Minnesota's College of Biological Sciences with a BS in biology and earned an MS in environmental health from the university's Graduate School. He also is a 2009 graduate of the Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
