CIDRAP featured in SPH meeting with new U of MN president

Oct 3, 2011 – CIDRAP Director Michael Osterholm, PhD, MPH, and preparedness program coordinator Nicholas Kelley, PhD, highlighted infrastructure and supply chain issues when new University of Minnesota president Eric Kaler visited the university's School of Public Health (SPH) on Sep 19.

Osterholm and Kelley discussed the importance of public health infrastructure, outlining concerns over coal supplies, electricity resilience, and food supply chains—all topics of CIDRAP research.

Kaler, who was inaugurated the university's 16th president on Sep 22, visited with SPH Dean John Finnegan and SPH faculty and staff for the first time. The visit focused on the broad areas of research being conducted at the SPH and on educational opportunities for students.

The CIDRAP portion of the SPH video begins at 1:11.
