H5N8 avian flu continues in Europe, while H5N6, H5N1 strike again in Asia.
The virus is spreading south and west as experts predicted after the H5 clade was discovered in Russia in June.
(CIDRAP News) H5N1 virus has been found in wild birds in yet another European country, Slovakia, while tests of samples from 95 people in India have revealed no cases of avian influenza so far, according to reports today.
(CIDRAP News) – European veterinary experts who met in Brussels today concluded there is little immediate risk that wild birds will spread avian influenza from Russia into Europe.
