German E coli probe yields few new findings

(CIDRAP News) – German investigators working on a major enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) outbreak revealed little new information today, as the number of infections continued to rise and new details emerged about four American cases linked to the outbreak and an atypical pattern some doctors are seeing in severely ill German patients.

Sprouts linked to European E coli outbreak

(CIDRAP News) – German officials today announced that they have tentatively linked bean sprouts grown in the northern part of the country to a massive Escherichia coli outbreak, a development that US experts say could help explain some of the outbreak's puzzling elements.

E coli cases, deaths in Europe push higher

(CIDRAP News) – The count of cases and deaths in Europe's Escherichia coli outbreak pushed higher today, with various news reports citing about 1,500 cases and 17 deaths, while the source of the epidemic remained a mystery.
