Cilantro grown in the Puebla, Mexico, area is suspected as the cause of some cases in a summer outbreak of Cyclospora infections in Texas.
Past Cyclospora outbreaks involved imported produce, but so far no common source has been found.
Cases include the first in Mexico and Grenada and two locally acquired infections in Venezuela.
Nearly half of US states are reporting widespread flu activity, up from 10 last week.
