First responders called unprepared for terrorist attacks

(CIDRAP News) – Despite progress in the past 2 years, local emergency response agencies in the United States remain dangerously unprepared for major terrorist attacks, according to a new study by the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank.

To contain monkeypox, HHS endorses smallpox shots, bans rodent trade

(CIDRAP News) – To contain the emerging monkeypox outbreak, federal health authorities today recommended smallpox vaccination for people potentially exposed to the disease and acted to freeze the movement of pets that may carry it.
