Pediatric flu deaths have now reached 56, and activity is widespread nationwide.
Hospitalization rates are up, and 7 new deaths in kids are reported, raising the season total to 41.
Clinic visits for influenza-like illness increased from 4.3% to 4.8%, 6 more pediatric deaths were confirmed, and the H3N2 strain appears to be surging.
Flu is widespread in 47 states, and the CDC reports 4 more pediatric flu deaths.
