E coli outbreak linked to frozen snacks sickens 24 in 15 states

(CIDRAP News) – Federal and state health officials are investigating a multistate Escherichia coli O121 outbreak that has so far sickened 24 people in 15 states and sparked a recall of a New York company's frozen chicken quesadillas and other snacks.

Multistate Salmonella outbreak tied to chicken sickens 124

(CIDRAP News) – The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced yesterday that it is investigating a Salmonella Heidelberg outbreak simmering since last June that has sickened at least 124 people in 12 states.

Tainted ground beef linked to illnesses in five states

(CIDRAP News) – A second Michigan company has recalled ground beef in connection with a Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak, which has expanded to 16 illnesses in five states, according to federal officials.
