(CIDRAP News) – Canadian researchers have reported a study in which both young children and middle-aged adults had little evidence of immune protection against swine-origin influenza H3N2 viruses like those that have been reported recently in a dozen US children.

Four novel H3N2 cases linked to pigs in Indiana

(CIDRAP News) – Four people who exhibited pigs at a recent county fair in Indiana were infected with a novel swine-origin H3N2 influenza strain, raising the number of such cases reported in the past year to 17, according to Indiana health officials.

H3N2 found in most pigs tested following human cases

(CIDRAP News) – A high proportion of pigs tested for H3N2 influenza in connection with recent human cases of variant H3N2 (H3N2v) in Indiana and Ohio have been found to carry the virus, according to figures from state officials.
