For the first time in China, the high-path strain of H7N9 has been detected in live market poultry.
In addition to widespread H5N8, H5N1 is confirmed in Nigeria and H5N6 in Japan.
Several European countries reported more H5N8 outbreaks several different settings: wild birds, poultry, and even at a zoo.
H5N1 kills crows in Bangladesh, while France, Nigeria, and Vietnam see more outbreaks of avian influenza caused by various strains.
All 3 nations have been hit hard; France has now had 66 high-path outbreaks.
In addition to new HPAI poultry infections in 3 French states, more outbreaks seen in Vietnam and Nigeria.
