Feds team with Walgreens to raise minority flu vaccination rates

(CIDRAP News) – With signs that the flu season is picking up momentum, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today unveiled a demonstration project to raise flu vaccination rates in minority groups, backed by $10 million worth of vaccine vouchers from Walgreens.

Grants for small biotechs include infectious-disease projects

(CIDRAP News) – Federal officials announced yesterday that $1 billion worth of grants and tax credits will be awarded to thousands of small biotechnology companies to support the development of new medical therapies, including a number of products for infectious diseases.
