EU pushes vaccination amid rising flu activity

(CIDRAP News) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) today said flu transmission is increasing across the European Union (EU), led by a spike in the United Kingdom, and warned people in recommended groups to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Food safety bill in serious trouble

(CIDRAP News) – A broad food safety bill that in an earlier version had overwhelming support in the Senate was in serious trouble and running out of time today, after Senate Democratic leaders gave up on a huge omnibus spending bill to which the food measure was attached.
