Auditor draws lessons from Yosemite hantavirus outbreak

(CIDRAP News) – A federal auditor found no major flaws in the National Park Service's (NPS's) handling of the hantavirus outbreak at Yosemite National Park last summer, but the auditor called for closer reviews of plans for visitor lodgings to prevent vector-borne diseases.

Cases of Marburg, Ebola climb in Uganda

(CIDRAP News) – An outbreak of Marburg hemorrhagic fever has grown to 20 cases in western Uganda, and 10 people in two of Uganda's central districts have contracted Ebola hemorrhagic fever, the World Health Organization (WHO) said recently.
