Cholera has struck more than 6% of Haitians

(CIDRAP News) – The death toll in Haiti's cholera epidemic is approaching 8,000, and more than 6% of Haitians have had the disease since it invaded the country in October 2010, according to reports released this week.

UN unveils cholera elimination plan for Haiti, Dominican Republic

(CIDRAP News) – United Nations (UN) officials yesterday launched a new initiative to eliminate cholera from Haiti and the Dominican Republic, using short-term measures such as targeted vaccine use and more permanent ones such as ensuring a clean drinking water supply.
