WHO sees major progress in battling neglected tropical diseases

(CIDRAP News) – The world has made "unprecedented" progress in the last few years in the battle against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), with two maladies targeted for eradication within the next 7 years, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in a report released today.

WHO takes aim at dengue in strategy document

(CIDRAP News) – Saying dengue virus infections and deaths have mushroomed in recent years, the World Health Organization (WHO) recently released a strategy report that sets a goal of cutting deaths in half and reducing cases by 25% over the next 8 years.
