Mold findings spark NJ compounding pharmacy recall

(CIDRAP News) – A New Jersey compounding pharmacy yesterday recalled all of its products after a Connecticut hospital found particulates in the company's magnesium sulfate intravenous (IV) solution that were confirmed to be mold.

Attack rate in fungal meningitis outbreak estimated at 4.4%

(CIDRAP News) – Researchers estimate from preliminary data that 4.4% of patients who were exposed to contaminated steroid drugs from a Massachusetts compounding pharmacy contracted fungal meningitis or other fungal infections, according to a new report in the New England Journal of Medicine.
