(CIDRAP News) – Influenza activity remained elevated in Midwestern US states but elsewhere was at low levels, while some Northern Hemisphere countries reported moderate flu activity, according to the latest US and international reports.

(CIDRAP News) – Flu activity in the United States continued its late-season rise last week, with more respiratory specimens testing positive and more states reporting widespread activity, but flu-like illness stayed relatively low overall, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said today.

US flu markers show steady rise

(CIDRAP News) – Flu activity in the United States showed a moderate spike last week, with a jump in states reporting widespread activity, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported today.

The number of respiratory specimens testing positive for flu, another marker of flu activity, also showed a steady rise last week, increasing to 18.4%, compared with 14.4% the week before.
