CDC sees little growth in adult vaccine coverage

(CIDRAP News) – Coverage rates for vaccines recommended for adults remain stubbornly low, except for modest gains in two, the diphtheria with acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap) and the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in women, according to new federal estimates today.

(CIDRAP News) – In an effort to protect males against certain cancers and to indirectly protect women, the federal government's vaccine advisory group today approved a recommendation for routine vaccination of boys ages 11 or 12 with the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

Teen vaccine survey finds lagging HPV coverage

(CIDRAP News) – An annual survey found that increases in human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) vaccination in US adolescents are lagging those of two other vaccines——the tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine and the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY)——the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said today.

IOM review ties few adverse effects to vaccines
