Fourteen deaths reported in Uganda Ebola outbreak

(CIDRAP News) – An Ebola outbreak in Uganda that has killed 14 people has mobilized global efforts to contain the disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) said yesterday.

Among the dead are a healthcare worker and several members of the same family, and Ebola cases, including the fatal ones, have now reached 20, the agency said.

NIH preparing tool to help labs cope with new DURC policy

(CIDRAP News) – Federal officials are working on guidance to help local institutions implement the government's new policy on the oversight of life-sciences dual-use research of concern (DURC), an official from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) said today.
