Closed Dispensing Site Guide

The Closed Dispensing Site Workbook is designed to help community organizations become closed dispensing sites to administer medication to their staff and/or clients during an emergency. The workbook is an alternative to traditional prophylaxis dispensing site and is intended to disburse preventive medication to an entire population within 48 hours.

Mass Fatality Incident Management: Guidance for Hospitals and Other Healthcare Entities

Los Angeles County's mass fatality guidance provides detailed tools and recommendations that may assist hospitals and the offices of Medical Examiners and Coroners during an emergency. The guidance provides checklists for planning, staffing a fatalities management unit, and morgue surge.

Oklahoma Push Partner Program

The Oklahoma Department of Health developed a Push Partner Program in response to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 21, which asked all communities to be prepared to provide prophylaxis to their entire population within 48 hours. The "push" strategy involves distributing medications to partner agencies, which then dispense the medications to their employees, employees' family members, and the agencies' clients.

Push Partner Registry

The Push Partner Registry (PPR) is a five-county public health partnership with community-based organizations to dispense medications to at-risk populations during an emergency. The intent of the registry is to create a comprehensive database of regional private partners and community-based organizations that serve at-risk populations and are willing to serve as a private point-of-dispensing (POD) site during an emergency.

Workbook for Healthcare Providers in Rural Communities

A workbook developed by the USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness and the Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health promotes strategies for engaging rural healthcare providers in all-hazards planning. The workbook is the result of long-term collaborations with rural partners across the country and reflects rural communities' ideas, comments, and needs.

San Francisco Job Action Sheets

San Francisco has provided over 120 specific job action sheets for public health professionals who are responding to various aspects of an infectious disease emergency. The job action sheets are based on San Francisco's functional Infectious Disease Emergency Response plan, which uses a NIMS-compliant Incident Command System organization structure.

Pandemic Influenza Response and Management Toolkit: Appendix D: Alternative Care Site Management Tools (British Columbia, Canada)

Fraser Health's toolkit outlines key parameters for establishing alternate triage and care centers by providing guidance for selecting a site, organizing personnel, conducting triage and process flow, and discharging patients. The materials are still in draft form, and any triage or care site would need to modify the materials to fit its individual needs.
