For the first time, new cases outside of China exceed new cases reported within China.
Also, cases continue to surge in South Korea and Italy, and the US reports more positive tests in evacuees from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
As infections outside of China increase, China's total tops 75,000 cases.
The outbreak is now approaching 10,000 cases, including 213 deaths.
In other updates, measles cases are on the rise in the Americas, but showed another decline in Europe.
(CIDRAP News) – Chinese health officials yesterday announced three severe respiratory infections, two of them fatal, from H7N9 influenza, a subtype that has not been known to infect humans before.
(CIDRAP News) – Influenza activity remained elevated in Midwestern US states but elsewhere was at low levels, while some Northern Hemisphere countries reported moderate flu activity, according to the latest US and international reports.
