(CIDRAP News) The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently reported progress on implementing the new FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), including several measures that took effect Jul 3, such as the authority to suspend food facility registration when it believes foods could pose a risk.

(CIDRAP News) New data from Sweden today added more evidence of a link between a 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine and narcolepsy in children and adolescents, suggesting that those who were vaccinated had more than a sixfold increase in risk for the condition.

(CIDRAP News) France has reported a cluster of Escherichia coli O104:H4 infections that officials suspect may be linked to sprouts from a local source, fueling suspicions that contaminated seeds might be the source of both Germany's huge E coli outbreak and the French illnesses.
