(CIDRAP News) The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) today confirmed two more infections with novel flu viruses, in children in Minnesota and West Virginia, only one of which involves the novel H3N2 strain found this year in four other states.

(CIDRAP News) Testing by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that the novel H3N2 viruses that recently sickened three Iowa children are similar to swine-origin viruses containing a gene segment from the 2009 H1N1 virus that have been identified in three other states.
(CIDRAP News) Health officials in Iowa announced today they have identified novel swine influenza A/H3N2 infections in three children, similar to cases that have been identified over the past months in a handful of other states.
