(CIDRAP News) A large, multi-center study of how well the 2009 H1N1 vaccines performed in the United States during the pandemic found that it offered significant protection, especially in older children and nonelderly adults, and had the ability to cut the number of flu-related doctor visits by at least half.
(CIDRAP News) Researchers who combed through scores of serologic studies estimate that the global cumulative incidence of pandemic H1N1 influenza infection before vaccines became available was probably below 20%, far lower than the 50% that pandemic planners had envisioned as a possible worst case.

(CIDRAP) – Europe's drug regulatory agency today released its final review of a link between narcolepsy and the Pandemrix 2009 H1N1 vaccine, which recommends a labeling change that limits the vaccine's use in children and teens to when protection is needed and seasonal trivalent vaccine isn't available.
