Leah Moat is the Program Manager for CIDRAP’s Chronic Wasting Disease program, providing technical and organizational expertise for contingency planning and disease research efforts. Prior to joining CIDRAP, Leah was a global health fellow in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Guatemala office, supporting and evaluating regional infectious disease surveillance systems. She has also worked for the Minnesota Department of Health in both foodborne illness and COVID-19 surveillance and has contributed to research on COVID-19 vaccine uptake and mitigation strategy adherence. Her interest in infectious disease research, surveillance, and policy is matched by a passion for health equity and global health. Leah earned her MPH in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota and a BA in biology and Spanish from Gustavus Adolphus College
