Research Hubs

Websites and databases that bring together available information, tools, literature, and resources on the links between COVID-19, antibiotic use, secondary bacterial and fungal infections, and antimicrobial resistance

Coinfections in COVID-19 - The forum is led by Mike Cox, PhD, and Nick Loman, PhD, at the University of Birmingham to create a research community around secondary infections and co-infections in COVID-19 patients.

COVID-19 and antimicrobial resistance (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Antimicrobial Resistance Centre) - The resource hub lists online resources, opinion pieces, and publications available on AMR and COVID-19.

The Global Nexus for Pandemics and Biological Threats - On Sep 1, 2020, McMaster University announced that it will launch an international and interdisciplinary network of experts devoted to preventing future pandemics and mitigating global health threats like antimicrobial resistance.

Secondary infections, antibiotic chemotherapy and antibiotic resistance in the context of COVID-19 (Liverpool School for Tropical Medicine) - The resource hub compiles details of peer-reviewed publications, preprints, other resources, blog posts, and commentaries on the role of secondary infections, antibiotic use, and antimicrobial resistance in the care of COVID-19 patients.

Toronto Antimicrobial Resistance Research Network (University of Toronto) - TARRN is carrying out a living systematic review and meta-analysis on bacterial co-infection and secondary infection in patients with COVID-19.
